Every once in a while Jojo gets a hankering for shoe leather. It isn't a bad habit and the closest he has come to ruining a shoe was when he chewed on my daughter Kim's shoe.
The first time I had to leave him alone for awhile while I went out, when I came home, he had taken one of Judy's slippers and laid it by his bed. He didn't chew on it; just laid it there. It was as though it were a promise that we would return. It touched my heart.
I think he may have spent a lot of time in a crate because he seemed pretty tired after fairly short walks at first. But over time, he has built up his energy level and now I'm the one that comes home tired!
Jojo is crazy about the texture of things plush. Plush toys, plush blankets - he likes them all. He likes to take a nap with my wife just so he can roll around on her plush throw.
Okay, so he chews on it too. He just loves that texture.
On sunny days, he likes to find a spot in the sun.
We spent a recent week with my brother and his wife at Smith Mountain Lake in the central highlands of Virginia. This was the first time Jojo probably saw such a large body of water.
When my sister-in-law pulled a fish out of the lake, Jojo liked to freak out. After that, he payed close attention to what she was doing. I know it looks like she has hooked a whale here, but she actually had gotten hung up on the bottom.
Here is Judy and Jojo coming back from fishing. This is at the state park where they have around twenty wonderfully laid-out cabins that can be rented. Each has two bedrooms and a combination kitchen/dining/living room area. Many overlook the lake and all have porches with rockers for the retired.
The boy loves to walk!
